Vodou has no single "reset" button, because its settings are spread across a few separate,
purpose-specific files under ~/.vodou/ rather than one profile blob. Resetting the
wrong one can be more disruptive than helpful, so reset only what's actually causing your
problem:
| What you want to reset | What to do instead of deleting files |
|---|---|
| Start page / search engine | Start page, startup page & search engine — set your desired value there. |
| Theme / appearance | Themes and appearance — pick a different theme or mode. |
| Password vault | Open the vault → Start over (requires typing RESET) — this permanently deletes all saved logins. Only use this if you're sure. |
| Bookmarks | Remove bookmarks individually from the bookmark manager. |
| Browsing data | Ctrl+Shift+Del — the built-in, safe way to clear cookies, cache, and session history. |
We deliberately don't tell you to delete
~/.vodou wholesale: it holds your password vault and bookmarks, both of which that
would destroy permanently and irreversibly. If you genuinely want a completely clean slate and
understand that means losing your saved passwords and bookmarks, close Vodou first, then remove
the folder — but try one of the specific options above first.
