Download Vodou

Free and open source. Pick the option that fits your computer — each one runs the same browser.

Windows

Download the ZIP from the latest release, extract it, and run Vodou/Vodou.exe. Python and the browser engine are bundled, so there's nothing else to install. SHA256SUMS.txt on the same page verifies the download.

Any system, with Docker

Runs Vodou in a container and shows it in a browser tab — the easiest option on macOS and Linux. With Docker installed, run:

docker run -p 8080:8080 -v vodou-data:/home/vodou/.vodou msteier/vodou

then open http://localhost:8080/. The volume keeps your bookmarks and vault between runs.

From source

On Windows, macOS, or Linux with Python 3.10 or newer:

git clone https://github.com/MSteier/Vodou-Web-Browser.git
cd Vodou-Web-Browser
pip install -r requirements.txt
python main.py

This is also the version the built-in updater keeps current.
