Qt WebEngine can't load Chrome Web Store extensions, and letting arbitrary scripts run would be a security risk — so instead, ☰ menu → Plugins… lists a small, curated catalog of reviewed plugins you simply switch on or off. All plugin code ships inside Vodou itself; you never paste in code of your own.

Bundled plugins

  • Cookie Banner Zapper
  • Glass Blur Deflicker — reduces CSS backdrop-filter blur, which can flicker under hardware compositing on some Windows GPU drivers. If flicker persists, switch Graphics mode to Compatibility instead.
  • Text Selection Unlocker
  • YouTube Ad Skip — auto-clicks "Skip Ad," fast-forwards unskippable ads (muted), and hides overlay/banner ads, without touching your YouTube login.

Because YouTube Ad Skip works by recognizing page elements, a brief flash of an ad before it's skipped is possible, and YouTube reworking its player can occasionally break it or trigger YouTube's own ad-block notice.

Each plugin declares which sites it's allowed to run on, runs isolated from page scripts, and shows a SHA-256 fingerprint of its own code so tampering would be detectable. The saved on/off state records enabled plugin IDs only — never executable content — so tampering with it could at most toggle an already-reviewed plugin on or off.
