Vodou blocks requests to a list of roughly 3,500 known tracker and ad domains, matched
entirely on your device — nothing about which trackers you encountered is sent anywhere. A
small hardcoded core list is combined with a larger curated list bundled in the app
(trackers.txt, refreshed with normal updates).
The counter
The status bar shows a running count of blocked requests for the session. Click it (or ☰ → Settings → Privacy & security → Pause tracker blocking) to let requests through temporarily — useful for a site that visibly breaks with blocking on. Pausing only lasts for the current session; blocking always resumes the next time you start Vodou.
Blocking report
☰ menu → Blocking report… opens a chart of what's been blocked recently: a headline total, a column chart of requests over time, and a ranked list of the trackers seen most. You can view the past hour (per-minute) or past 24 hours (per-hour). These counts are treated the same as browsing history: kept in memory only, bounded to 24 hours, with no URLs and no record of which site you were on — which is also why the report can't show anything older than a day.
Adding your own blocked domains
To add domains that stay local to your machine, list them (one per line) in
~/.vodou/blocklist.txt. That file is never bundled, committed, or sent anywhere.
